Description:
dam– /dcm– competent cells are ideal for generating plasmid DNA lacking dam and dcm methylation. Methylation at
respective GATC and CC(A/T)GG sites, is prevented by the absence of dam and dcm methylases. Restriction enzymes
inhibited by dam or dcm methylation can be used to digest plasmid DNA propagated and purified from these strains.
